With so many beautiful options, it can be hard to choose where to go. Rest assured, you can unwind and reconnect in these breathtaking locations that promise to ignite your romance. Let’s explore the best national parks for your next getaway!

There are many different factors that can make a national park especially romantic.
Read my guide How to Plan a National Park Romantic Getaway for more details.
But some of the factors that I used to determine if a park should make this list include the park’s natural beauty, privacy (opportunities to escape the crowds), and accommodation options (classic lodges, cozy cabins, secluded campsites, and even nearby glamping).
1. Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park is known for its breathtaking views and iconic landmarks such as the majestic El Capitan and Half Dome.
The park also features beautiful waterfalls, including Bridalveil Fall and Yosemite Falls. And, of course, a Yosemite romantic getaway wouldn’t be complete without a stay – or at least a meal – in one of the romantic classic national park lodges.
Romantic activities
Take a leisurely stroll in Yosemite Valley or enjoy a hike together on one of the many trails. The view from the Yosemite Falls trail, over the valley below is breathtaking, and the Mist Trail also has spectacular waterfalls, often with rainbows in the mist created by the falls.
Don’t miss the chance to stargaze at night. The clear skies in Yosemite make it an excellent location for viewing stars and constellations. Or, for something a little different, look at the face of El Capitan from Tunnel View and if you’re lucky, you’ll see the “El Cap Constellation”, which is the pattern formed by the tent lights of climbers overnighting on the face of the granite cliff.
Yosemite is also a great park for a scenic drive. Drive to Glacier Point, stopping off at Yosemite Valley View. Or drive to Tenaya Lake for another scenic spot.

Another wonderful view is Olmsted Point on Tioga Road. The view there looks down into Yosemite Valley from the east.

There are several famous places to see the sunset inside Yosemite. Glacier Point is one of the most popular sunset spots. You won’t be alone, but it’s still incredibly romantic.
My other top pick is Sentinel Bridge, where there’s a stunning view of Half Dome reflected in the Merced River as well as nearby Yosemite Falls.

2. Zion National Park

Note that you need to take a (less romantic) shuttle for much of the year, but it’s open to driving your own vehicle in winter.

The Kolob Terrace scenic drive is another wonderful drive where you can really get away from the crowds. You’ll often have the overlooks such as Lava Point Overlook entirely to yourselves, even at the height of summer.
