Cortez Municipal Airport (CEZ)
Cortez Municipal Airport in Colorado may not seem like the logical choice, but it is in fact the closest commercial airport to Monument Valley. It’s still not that close, so you will need to drive after you arrive.
It’s a small airport, so doesn’t have a lot of flight options, but is has flights with Denver Air Connection, which is part of Key Lime Air. They operate flights from here to 16 US cities in nine states, and partner with American and United to offer more choice. The major gateways of Denver and Phoenix are directly served by the airline.
This airport is just three miles from Cortez, and around 110 miles from Monument Valley. It’s very close to Mesa Verde National Park, so if you fly into here, it makes sense to visit there, too. The drive typically takes about two and a half hours.
